Can you share more about your journey from being an investigation specialist at Amazon to becoming the COO and co-founder of Zetamotion?
While working at Amazon, I was simultaneously bootstrapping Zetamotion. Like many first-time founders, I had to juggle multiple responsibilities until we achieved enough financial stability to focus on our startup full-time.
What inspired you to co-found Zetamotion?
The innovative concept behind Zetamotion was incredibly compelling. When Huy and Wil approached me to manage the operational side, I was excited to take on the challenge and step out of my comfort zone.
Reflecting on your time with Zetamotion, what would you say has been the most challenging aspect of your role? How did you overcome it?
Managing people and resolving conflicts have been the most challenging aspects as our tech start-up has grown. To overcome these challenges, we maintained open communication, sought advice from experienced mentors, and experimented with various strategies to find what works best. Learning from our mistakes has been key to our success.
Can you discuss a particular achievement under your leadership that you’re particularly proud of?
In operations, success often goes unnoticed because it’s about ensuring everything runs smoothly. However, I take pride in consistently meeting deadlines and delivering top-quality results to support our team. Under my leadership, we’ve grown from three co-founders to a team of 20, spanning tech, sales, marketing, finance, and administration. We’ve also expanded from a UK-based start-up to having offices in the UK, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
How do you ensure that Zetamotion’s operations align with its strategic goals, especially in such a fast-paced and innovative environment?
Effective communication and the willingness to seek help when needed are crucial. We make sure everyone is aligned with our strategic goals and continuously adapt to the fast-paced and innovative nature of the tech industry.
Looking ahead, what are the next big goals for Zetamotion, and how are you preparing the company to achieve them?
Our next big goals for Zetamotion include expanding our global market presence, enhancing our product offerings with cutting-edge technology, and building strategic partnerships to drive growth. To achieve these objectives, we are investing heavily in research and development, scaling our team with top talent, and continuously refining our operational processes to ensure efficiency and adaptability.
How do you see your role evolving as Zetamotion continues to grow and expand its market presence?
As Zetamotion grows, my role will evolve from managing day-to-day operations to focusing more on strategic planning and long-term vision. This involves leading high-level initiatives, fostering a strong company culture, and ensuring that our operational framework can support our expansion plans. Additionally, I will dedicate more time to mentoring our leadership team and building relationships with key stakeholders.
Reflecting on your career, what’s one piece of wisdom you wish you had known earlier?
One piece of wisdom I wish I had known earlier is the importance of resilience and adaptability. The startup journey is full of uncertainties and challenges, and being able to pivot and adapt quickly is crucial. Embracing change and learning from failures are essential for long-term success in the tech industry.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs or professionals looking to make a significant impact in the tech industry?
My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to stay passionate and persistent. The tech industry is highly competitive, and success often requires continuous learning and innovation. Build a strong network, seek advice from experienced mentors, and don’t be afraid to take risks. Most importantly, focus on solving real problems and creating value for your customers.
